Rosa woodsii (Wood’s Rose)
From CONPS: This perennial woody shrub does come with prickles, but also with lovely flowers. Grows in sun or part shade, with a moderate growth rate, usually around 2' to 5', in garden setting and can be held at any height with yearly pruning. Dark green leaves with profuse pink flowers through the summer followed by bright orange/red rose hips in fall that stay on branches through the winter. Easy to grow and low water requirements, but does spread through suckers and rhizomes. Insects, birds, and small mammals eat the fruits. Special value to native bees.

Also good for: insects, bees. Feeds: Grouse, bluebirds, juncos, grosbeaks.
