Solidago rigida (Stiff Goldenrod)

From CONPS: Thriving in the most inhospitable soils, and tolerating a range of conditions, including clay, this 1 - 2 ft perennial adds bright yellow color late in the season. The leaves a gray with pubescent hairs rough to the touch. It is an important source of nectar for pollinators and attracts Monarch butterflies as they migrate. The seeds are an important food source for birds in late fall. Full-sun, prairie plant that likes disturbance and does well at the sidewalk and driveway edges. If it stays too wet, it can develop powdery mildew.

Planted between Blue Mist Spirea and Bee Balm in full sun in the Northern West-facing berm.
