Achnatherum hymenoides (Indian Rice Grass)
From CONPS: A perennial bunchgrass, this will mature to a size of 24" tall by 12" wide, with low water use. Plant in full sun. Blooms in summer with a lacy tan inflorescence. Sage-green, wiry foliage and ivory-colored seedheads give the grass an overall light, airy appearance. Foliage turns tan when dormant. It is highly palatable to many herbivores. Birds eat the seeds in fall, host plant to various skipper butterflies.
